Source of Funds Checks

From time to time, and to comply with regulatory requirements, all betting and gambling operators may ask for further information regarding how you fund your gambling.

Why do Islands Lotto ask for information about my finances?

Islands Lotto are required to take steps to ensure that gambling on our site is fair and open, and not linked to crime, and does not lead to harm.

One way to achieve this is to collect information from our customers to allow verification of the source of the funds used to gamble on Islands Lotto.

This means that just like banks and other financial institutions, Islands Lotto may at times need to ask you to provide information about where your funds used to play come from, your source of funds. We do this to make sure that you have sufficient funds to support your gambling with Islands Lotto and that the funds are not linked with any form of criminal or terrorist activity!

There are clear requirements in the Gambling and Financial Laws that apply to our business, so we must be able to ask for this information.

What might I need to provide to Islands Lotto if I am asked to verify my affordability or source of funds?

If your are asked by our support team for information regarding your affordability or source of funds, please provide as much evidence as possible that shows that you have sufficient funds to play and that those funds come from legitimate and legal sources.

Whilst we need to be comfortable that you can afford your recent spend, we also need to understand how you intend to fund continued spend moving forward. So when you are requested to provide affordability or source of funds information it is important to provide as much detail as possible to limit further requests, and any further inconvenience to you.

How will my information be used?

Islands Lotto treats all the information you provide in the strictest of confidence. All documents are stored and handled securely and only accessed by authorised members of the support team. The information in the documents provided will only be used to fulfil our regulatory and legal obligations.

What will happen if I do not provide information when asked to do so?
